Now that teenagers had money to spend on music, much of the music produced was directed towards them. The music reflected the new sexual permissiveness and drug trends. There was no ONE style of music that was most popular. There was a revival of folk music, African American artists were beginning to be played more, rock and roll continued to be mainstream, and Motown was born. The most popular music was by the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Supremes, the Everly Brothers, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Sonny and Cher, the Who, and the Doors. The most famous demonstration that was held was Woodstock It took place in 1969, and lasted for 3 days. It was a living example that a large number of people could stay together for an extended period of time with peace and love in their hearts.
